American Crafts has knocked it out of the Halloween ballpark!!! We LOVE Halloween around here! Being a maker, every year I delight in creating a few items to our holiday decor!!! In most things artsy, I love layering with colors, textures and whimsy, filling my home with holiday cheer (for every holiday-we celebrate everything around here! During our annual girls trip, all of my artsy girlfriends and I made the most darling Halloween fabric garland-it is spectacular!!! But you know, more is better! So when I came across American Crafts layered wall decor & pom pom flowers Crate Paper cat lights I knew they were the perfect addition to my mantle decor!
Decorative paper straws are SO on trend and lend themselves to all sorts of dimensional crafting! I love using them as stems for paper flowers in a clear vase! There are so many amazing and fresh ways to incorporate them into your holiday crafting! They aren't just for sipping any more! Below, I will share a super cute and simple craft that you can create, (as I did) in one evening of watching television! I love all of the Halloween decorative paper straws that American Crafts released! I loved them so much, I bought them all-knowing I could make something super cute! Here is what I did-
1. I gathered 3 different patterned packages of decorative paper straws (I couldn't deny myself any cuteness-so I bought them all!) I cut each straw in thirds.
2. American Crafts has really nice baker's twine, that holds it's shape, I cut a piece as long as I wanted my garland to be, plus about twelve inches for hanging loops on each end. I pierced a hole through the center of each straw. I threaded a needlepoint needle with the twine and strung each straw piece creating a pleasing pattern.
3. Taa Daa!!!! I am madly in love with it!! Full of color, texture and dimension! I hope you are inspired to create one of your own!
