MCM layout how to!

To Memorialize Man Crush Monday, I thought I would share a LOVE layout I created featuring products from The Crafter's Workshop, Faber -Castell Design Memory Crafts and Crate Paper, celebrating my magnificent man! I am LOVING the trend of mixing artsy techniques with traditional scrapbooking products! The dimension and texture are SO amazing!

I coated a 12x12 piece of Bazzill white textured cardstock with clear gesso. I colored randomly with Metallic Mint and Metallic Melon Gelatos in a organic diagonal pattern, spritzed with water and blended with my finger. I never waste any of that gorgeous color, so I pressed a fantastic TCW stencil into the watered down Gelatos and stamped randomly. I mixed some silver Gelato with modeling paste and pushed it through another fabulous TCW stencil. I am madly in LOVE with the versatility of The Crafter's Workshop's stencils-the possibilities are endless! I sliced some of each Gelato and mixed with water, and splatter painted for another layer of color and artsy goodness! I absolutely LOVED the background and knew it was the perfect base to build the rest of the layout with all kinds of loot from Crate Paper's Craft Market collection and Queen & Co quartz stones. I hope you are inspired to give these techniques a whirl! There is nothing like that feeling of loving a new "trend" and jumping feet first into it and it all working out! Art is Fun!!! sneaky peeky of my 3rd project for Faber-Castell Design Memory Crafts!

I hope that you are inspired to go out and create and play with some Gelatos today-they have the most brilliant and vibrant color of any waterbased product out there! Spreading the good word about ART by Ann Corbiere-Scott

I love to spread the good word about art, every chance I get. So when I was invited to create and share a artsy make and take at Scrapbook Barn, last weekend, I jumped at the chance! The wheels in my noggin started to spin! I knew I wanted to dream up a tag idea that could be incorporated into an art journal, as I just started teaching an art journaling class there. I also knew, I wanted to use Gelatos® Colors to share a fun technique that they could use over and over again. I absolutely love everything about this tag, the colors, the technique, the sentiment, and of course, the fact that I can easily add it as a tip in, to my art journal! The possibilities are absolutely endless!!! I make art everyday and hope you do too!

I prepared simple manilla shipping tags by covering them with clear gesso. Once I was at the store, we colored random segments with two Gelatos colors, I chose Snow Cone and Spearmint. Then I spritzed it with water and blended the colors with my finger. With my heat tool, I dried the entire tag. I laid The Crafter's Workshop-Mini Geo Explosion 6x6 template, on top of the tag, slightly off center, so that amazing edge would be prominent. Next I rubbed gently with a baby wipe into the delicate openings in the stencil to take away the color beneath. The results were magical! To finish the tag , I stamped one of my favorite artsy sentiments in black Archival Ink by Ranger. The stamp is one I have had in my stash forever and a day, and there is no identifying name on it :(. This technique could be used in a million different applications.
