You know the magical feeling when all of the planets align and all of the pieces of a project come together perfectly? That is exactly what happened when I started this artsy layout. I have a love affair with stencils, especially The Crafter's Workshop stencils. I found the loopy flowers on the Daisy Splash 12x12 stencil were super similar to the loopy flowers on Jillibean Soup's Saffron Yellow Pepper Soup collections patterned paper-inspiration! I love texture, so I started out with a piece of Bazzill's white textured cardstock, cut down to 11 1/2" x 11 1/2". I spread a thin layer of modeling paste through the Daisy Splash doodling stencil creating a dimensional base. I painted my 'canvas' with random artsy painterly strips of broken china, wild honey and picked raspberry distress paint ( I unscrewed the caps and poured paint onto my palette and painted with a paintbrush-saving the foam). I love how the paint brought out the dimension of the flowers and the canvas texture of the cardstock. I splatter painted with white acrylic paint to further enhance the artsy painterly feel. I then built the rest of the layout with Jillibean's Saffron patterned paper (that matches perfectly!!!) I popped the title with foam tape and punched a spiral holed strip with American Crafts Knock outs punch, for more dimension and texture. I printed the 5 x5 black and white photo of my beautiful daughter at Costco-their photo developing is the bomb-especially square photos !!!!!
