Hello 2015-this time of the year is always such a bright beginnings, fresh starts, a time to begin anew! I love this time!
I am on the OLW journey once again-I find it to be the most rewarding adventure of self discovery! This year I chose the word
1.reliance on the integrity, strength, ability, surety, etc., of a person or thing;
2. confident expectation of something; hope.
Trust the process
Trust God's timing
So excited to embrace it, grow with it and see where it takes me!
January is like a calm breeze after December's crazy wind storm! I created so much in December, and wanted to share them all with you, but I just got a new computer and the transition of figuring it all out took a little longer than I thought! Anyway, here are the artsy creations I made! As always, a new gift card holder idea
These darling little pillow shaped boxes are the cutest upcycled project! The base is a flattened tp roll! I scored a half circle in the ends and folding them in. I fell madly in love with Bella Blvd's Christmas Cheer collection kit and knew it was just what I wanted to use for these little gifties! I covered the cardboard base with a patterned paper, then used We R's envelope punch board to create a coordinating paper bow-SHUT THE FRONT DOOR-HOW CUTE ARE THESE, I ASK YOU!?! so darling and SO easy to do! I cut up a 'daily details sheet to create the gift tags and tied them onto the bow with some We R twine!
Annual traditions are what make the holidays special and fill our hearts. I have a few that I look forward to each and every year. They both revolve around the 12 days of Christmas. The first one is for my niece and nephew who live far away. All though the year, I am on the lookout for unique little things that are fitting for them-for example, Seth is a drummer, and I found drum stick pencils one year. Anyway, I gather all of the little treasures I found throughout the year, wrap and tag them with a numbered tag and send them on their way.
I used the darling Home for Christmas collection by Pebbles including those fantastic little printed bags!!! I also used American Crafts 'Be Merry collection-tags from Santa, chips and ephemera cookies!
I love that this little tradition keeps us connected! They send me funny little text messages and photos, that bring a smile to my face. Their Mother raised them right and they send their thank you's promptly. I am thankful too-they indulge their Auntie, when she sends silly glasses or a Rudolph nose, they don the holiday apparel and send me photographic proof-and never once tell me it's lame!
The other 12 days of Christmas tradition is that we select a family to secretly leave little gifts on their doorstep for 12 days. We have gotten pretty good at our doorbell ditch and run technique! Each gift has a tag with a cute little poem about the gift.
I used American Crafts Hot Cocoa paper pad and Bazzill cardstock to create all 12 tags-all held together with American Crafts adhesive!
Every year, this simple act is transformative for my entire family! On the 12th day with reveal ourselves-and I am telling you-it is the greatest feeling!
Hope your holiday season was filled with love, laughter and lots of feel good moments!
