so last night was the final game of dwayne's hockey season-he played like a rock star! he can move on those skates, smoother than lots of people walk in shoes. i am just in awe of his ability. i watch as he grows into this amazing young man and sometimes, i swear, he takes my breath away-time is fleeting entirely too fast! he wears his uncle geoff's number on his jersey and i see the pride in my husband's eyes. i see my brother beam and point out each and every accomplishment of his pride and joy. he is focused on that one boy out there on the rink-everything else fades away-as it should. carrie and jade, his mother, brother and sister are there, all for him. miranda, who has been by his side since birth, is his greatest cheerleader-they share a bond so special and deep. as i attempt to really focus and "be" in the moment, my heart was so full of this family that comes out to support this boy's passion. i took a moment to gaze around that hockey rink and take in each of those faces, and in each of those faces, as in my own, was only one thing, LOVE. now, he is a 13 year old boy, he is not as melancholy as his auntie, but i'll bet he could feel it in his heart.
during your day today, take a few moments to, stop, and look around you and "be" in the moment-it is the most fantastic experience! to quote a very old commercial-TRY IT, YOU'LL LIKE IT!"
